He walks this fearful city
Looking victims for his blade
Unknown and unpredictable
Is he on some evil crusade?

Lyric – Be Happy

Here is a lyric I’ve been working on for a while. I think this is close to something I can stop tinkering with. Lyrics are never finished, you just have to stop tinkering at some point!. Anyway, thoughts (including negative) welcome.

Be happy

You’ll never find me searching when you’re not there
I’ll never waste my time hoping that you care
You’ll never find me looking for a love that’s died
I’ll just make do with the love I can find

Be happy with the world
Smile at passers by

Lift your face up to the sky

You don’t need to be melancholy in any way
Just grin and bear it from day to day
You only get one shot at a happy life
Just don’t go wasting it on religion and strife

Lyric I first did ages ago. Have resurrected and amended it. Probably still needs some more polishing and refining to make it scan and easier to sing.

Winter Sun

Gotta love the cold, sunny winter days. Well at least the rain is off 🙂

But I do like the crisp mornings. I wrote the following one day driving to work by motorcycle on a sunny, winter day. No radio in the helmet so you have to make your own entertainment!

Winter Sun

The winter sun will show me the way
Help me through these cold hard days
The winter sun will guide my steps
And I’ll be grateful for its help
The time will surely come around again
Long hot sunny days with your friends
Drinking beer and making love
Those are the kind of days we all want

Eclipse lyric

I wrote this little ditty in 1999 when there was a total eclipse that tracked over Europe. The recent interest in the annular eclipse in Scotland reminded me that it was lurking on my PowerBook hard drive. The appearance of Brian May on The Sky at Night show in the UK and Brian’s thoughts about the eclipse on his web site prompted me to send it to his Soapbox email address. I got a reply from Brian and the lyric is also posted on the letters section of the Brian May web site (page it was on no longer available).

Anyway as it is now out in the wild I may as well post it here. Nothing serious. Just a bit of fun.
